A very pretty site, in the grounds of the chateau, with all the facilities one needs,: large swimming pool, bar/restaurant and daily bread purchase. The pitches are of a good size and we were given a choice as to where we pitched. The site is within easy striking distance of St Omer (good for a little sightseeing and lunch) and there is a decent size Carrefour supermarket very nearby for everyday shopping.. The Eperlecques Blockhaus is certainly worth a visit. The site is very convenient for both Dunkirk and Calais ferry ports.

Very attractive local area though limited in terms of shops and restaurants.

Un accueil irréprochable, voir exceptionnel, compétent, multilingue, très sympathique et bienveillant avec Mr. Julien. Un très beau camping verdoyant, arboré, calme, reposant avec une belle forest qui permets de belles promenades et éveil l'imagination des enfants. Divertissements à souhait entre terrain de tennis, football, basket et pétanque, piscines, château gonflable ou encore pleine de jeux, diverses tables de ping-pong, mini foot ou Kickers (B). De quoi ne pas s'ennuyer !

Le restaurant propose des plats d'un bon rapport qualité/prix, également à emporter. Le seul petit bemol est le manque d'empathie, d'amabilité et de sourires des 2 jeunes serveuses!

Le seul bémol si je puis dire c'est la température de la piscine qui était insuffisante à notre goût, les petits on vite froids. 24 degrés c'est juste !

We love the site in all matters with exception of hard plastic on the ground. It makes it difficult to set up ramps, hard to walk on and furniture does not sit on it properly. Playing with our dog, he dropped from a height on to the plastic. I feel either it should be filled and or removed. That would be the only suggested improvement.

Wij hadden zonder voorkennis een paar overnachtingen gereserveerd. Té vroeg aangekomen (op de middagpauze buiten het seizoen - wat niet vermeld staat) bleek ook geen probleem te zijn. De omgeving, de kalmte, het fijne restaurant brachten alleen maar pluspunten bij aan onze dagen. Bij frissere dagen zijn de sanitaire blokken niet verwarmd, maar niet tegenstaande was het water heerlijk warm en was alles piekfijn proper. Het personeel was in 1 woord gewoon TOP We komen zeker en vast nog terug.

De algemene ontvangst was zeer vriendelijk, er werd ons een plaats voor onze tent aangeduid, indien deze niet naar onze zin was mochten we vragen om een andere plaats. We hebben dat niet gedaan maar vonden het heel vriendelijk.

Het was die periode veel te warm, maar daar kon de camping niks aan doen natuurlijk. Dus niks negatief te melden.

Super emplacement pour notre petite tente. La piscine est vraiment superbe. Tres sympa le snack et le resto. Le soir les enfants se retrouve dans les jeux et rentrent avec de supers souvenirs. On y retournera! .

Le problème les pigeons qui chantent et se battent très tôt le matin, pas de respect de la part des hollandais qui parlent très fort même après 22 h 30 voire plus. Irrespect des toilettes vis à vis des femmes de ménage (des serviettes hygiéniques à même le sol, des chasses d'eau non tirées, les bacs de vaisselles avec des détritus non enlevés,)

A quick reply to our email advising we would be late to check in reassured us this was going to be a good site. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, large pitches, cleanest bathrooms and facilities I’ve ever seen, lovely pool area, bouncy castle, lots of open areas for football/games, lots of British kids for my children to make friends with., food at bar is tasty, ice creams reasonably priced - we’d definitely stay again either for a few days or just passing through.

Lots of sites have a covered or partially covered pool so it can be used on cooler days but this site doesn’t which meant we could use it only for two our four of our days there.

Camping très bien situé à environ 1 heure des principaux sites touristiques du Nord-Pas de Calais. Camping très agréable, calme et très bien entretenu. Accueil très chaleureux.

Il est domage que certains campeurs ne respectent les lieux commun à tous (sanitaires, bac à vaisselles, ...). La vie en collectivité n'est pas acquise pour tout le monde !!!

Le camping des Gandspette est bien équipé avec, des emplacements de bonne taille, ses deux piscines, un babyfoot, salle de jeux avec Flipper, City pour les jeunes, terrain de tennis, terrain de bowling, jeux pour jeunes enfants et château gonflable, bar et restaurant.. J'en oublie sûrement. Le tout est propre, calme (mais cela dépend souvent des voisins), proche de tout. Je garde l'adresse ??

Si je devais dire quelque chose : femmes de ménages pas très agréable, pas d'animation dans le camping.

This is our go-to campsite when using the Channel Tunnel. We've had multiple one-night stop overs as Le Shuttle is conveniently close. We will someday soon make a longer stay here to explore the area. The site is clean, well spaced out and the staff are great. The restaurant serves delicious food.

We have stopped here several times this year 2023 . Normally as a stop gap for the tunnel but said on our last stop how we would actually love to stay and explore longer . The place itself is beautiful . The chap on reception is so welcoming and helpful which is so refreshing putting you at ease straight away . Nothing is too much trouble . A clean well kept place . Even on a middle of night arrival when your tired the night guard makes it so easy for you .

Good communication by staff at the reception. A large pitch was offered due to size of our rig, (i.e. Motorhome, Car and trailer) however the pitch levels and overhanging branches lead to me requesting another pitch, which was accommodated with no fuss. Domestics block & amenities all very good and the grounds are a really nice walk. Pools (X2) looked lovely however after 3 weeks in Southern France the weather put us off using them. Supermarkets and fuel close at hand in Watten. Nice drive from campsite to Calais ferries via non toll road. Will definitely stay again.

Only comment I would make is the daily cost of a pitch compared to other sites that we stayed on during our month long visit to France. I can understand the higher cost of a pitch if people are only using the site for one night stopovers however, maybe some consideration could be given to customer rates for those customers wanting longer bookings. This would reduce the overall costs and possibly attract / encourage more customers to stay longer because its a great location and there is so much to see in the surrounding countryside and obviously so much history to explore whilst there.

This is one of our favourite campsites - perfect for a stop off en route to or from the ferry. It feels very quiet & rural, surrounded by trees, with great views and dark starry skies. The playground and pool are good for kids, and there's nice bike riding on quiet roads too. The restaurant does excellent traditional French food.

The toilets and showers are not up to the standard of the rest of the site or of other sites we visited. Pizza quite poor quality - fast food style, not a freshly cooked restaurant product.

This is our second year visiting the site and we can’t fault it. Everything is perfect for a family stay. The swimming pool is amazing for the kids and the range of activities available suit everyone. Reception is incredibly helpful.

Only a very minor issue that it would be nice to have the restaurant/bar open for lunch and in the afternoon but totally appreciate why it isn’t.

Super friendly staff and proved an excellent option for me to relax and experience France before the final leg of my journey home. Never had kids with me on this occasion but from what I saw/experienced I would highly recommend this for families with young children. Lots for them to do. Good value rustic food and wine was also very welcome.

A lovely, family friendly campsite in a very handy loaction for stopover before Calais.

This was not one of the cheapest campsites we stayed in, so was a bit miffed when we had to pay an extra 7euros for electricity once we got there. We also got charged another 5euros for wifi which was included at every other campsite where we stayed. All in all a little bit on the pricey side so will be looking for somewhere a little less money grabbing in future.

We have used this site as our first / last nights travelling to and from France. It is always immaculate, great kids playground, decent pitches, the reception team are super-helpful, the pools are lovely. Very handy supermarket ten minutes away in Watten.

Site was noisy during the night; teenagers shouting in the bathroom. Bathrooms were ok, but not the best in terms of cleanliness. Site was really quite expensive for the quality of service. This was our last few days after an extended holiday in France where we had stayed at 11 other campsites of varying size/region. This was the poorest standard.

We always stay here at the end of our holiday as it's convenient for the Tunnel home. We've never had any problems here, and even when we mess up the booking (3 times so far!) it's always sorted out quickly and easily. Nothing is too much of a problem and the staff are just fantastic. The pitches are well-kept and spacious, very good facilities, sanitary block is regularly cleaned and easily used.

CDP is obviously built to CAMC standards, which I hate, and I find it awkward to use. This is not a reason to stop using the site! It could be fixed by moving the tap to the side of the tray and it will be 80% better. The kids on the site were regularly pulling out toilet paper from the holder and leaving it on the floor. Can't blame the site for that, people need to be a bit more respectful. Prices have gone up a bit compared to BC (Before Covid), but then all of France (and UK) has been affected. These are minor points and we look forward to staying here for many years to come.

Lovely surroundings which were nice for a walk. Bar and restaurant good (we just had a drink) and we played table tennis which was fun but we had our own bats - be useful for people to hire or borrow things like that rather than expect everyone to have their own. The bread order was great! We didn't use the pools but they looked good.

I didn't like that the toilets are not in with the showers, and then the place to wash your hands after the toilet is outside with nothing to use to wipe them dry. The ladies showers had no hairdryers in there and I would expect this for a 4* site (we stayed at others on this trip that were only 3* and they all had them!).

Local to Ferry Port and Great for facilities and families lots to do really good site, Did not have food at restaurant but feedback was that it was lovely having a bar on site was also a bonus great way to meet new people.

Not much in the general area unless you drive away from site.

Peaceful site with lots of open space and woodland for walking for the dogs (not that we took ours this time). Very helpful receptionist and choice of pitch. Nice to be able to have a drink at the bar in the evening. Lots of activities for both families and older guests, lovely pools, tennis, table tennis and even a bouncy castle. Lots of washing facilities. Close to Calais for ferry or Chunnel.

We like the site and pitches but the food is awful - I tried to complain but was dismissed in a very off hand manner -really poor

The food - overcooked kebabs with very small quantity tasted like hardboard - I tried to explain but the person who I spoke with dismissed my complaint and told me it wasn’t expensive - really bad attitude - otherwise site good so very sad

This is an excellent stop before or after your ferry/ tunnel. The facilities are excellent and easy to find. Toilet and shower blocks are first class as is the restaurant and bar. We walked to the V2 Doodlebug museum which is a " must see" We will use this site again

Very clean, organised and efficient from start to finish. Nearby 'blockhouse' an easy walk and very interesting if you like WW2 history and the V2 rocket in particular.

We've used this site as a stop over before but due to the weather we had to ammend our holiday and stayed at this site for the last four days of our holiday. Julien recommended places to visit which we did. The area is lovely and has some amazing war history.

The site layout was excellent. A wooded area, 2 large swimming pools, and our plot had pleanty of space. We'd planned it for a 2 night stopover to be near calais. Didn't realise that the WW2 Blockhouse was only 20min walk away. Not to be missed. Awesome.

We stayed as a stopover of one night before travelling further into France, but it is a site we would have stayed longer to explore the area. Quiet site, good clean facilities and lovely food served in restaurant. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Bit pricy but good location for the tunnel, people leave at all times I guess because of their tunnel / ferry crossing

Very close to the tunnel crossing. Really beautiful site and setting in woodland. So very well kept like a stately home garden. Oh, wait a minute, that is what it is! Now been through France in to Switzerland and this has been the best stop so far. Booked two night on the way home, just because it is so nice. Thank you.

This was our first time here we were very impressed. Beautiful surroundings, very good amenities and something to suit all ages. We had a tasty dinner in the restaurant. Overall it is excellent value. We plan to return on our homeward journey.

We have loved coming to this site for over 15 years and the best part is the excellent service and help provided by Julien on reception. He has always helped us arrange our vet appointments and others useful information and support to make our stay special. Looking forward to our return stay in June.

A lovely warm welcome (always!) Excellent location, site. We usually stay our first night here en route to our main holiday destination. But are now considering having a short break there too as it is such beautiful place to stay.

Size of pitch. Relaxed owner. Beautiful surroundings. We stayed early May and just few weeks too early for the pools which was shame but all the rest was fab. Definitely stay again on way or to eurotunnel for few days. Julien the owner was also so welcoming and friendly.

We stayed for one night in very early April so they were just bringing the place back to life, the bar/restaurant was being refurbished and the pools were closed so we didn’t get the full experience but we had a warm informative reception, a choice of great pitches and the washing facilities were immaculately clean and in very good condition. A beautiful site.

Slippery mesh in grass made getting on chocks very tricky but better than getting stuck in mud!

Food served, Pizza wa expensive for an 8inch one. It was under cooked and poor taste. Restaurant and bar was closed, but open for a Belgiuan Rally club so we could use it. Beer choice was limited - it was the end of season however. that peobably influences our scores. Other than that, the facilities, games area, pools and pitches were very nicely laid out. I would use the location again.

Lovely, picturesque site, friendly reception, nice bar / restaurant, 2 nice pools, immaculately clean toilet/showers, large pitch, 30mins from the ferry. Nice countryside around the site. WWII era blockhouse next to site definitely worth a visit. Carfour supermarket just down the road.

Pity bar / restaurant doesn't open earlier than 3pm. Very quiet area with very sleepy villages.

Located 15 mins from Dunkirk terminal, supermarkets close, great value take away menu from the restaurant. Good sized pools with plenty of beds, bouncy castles, swimming g Park etc for the kids, lots of table tennis, table football, tennis courts and outdoor gym and even a small arcade with pinball and video games for the older kids ??

Good spaced pitches,. Clean facilities. Our son loves the pools. Good bakery up the road. Although it’s a busy site, it’s still quiet and very family friendly. We have stayed here before and will definitely stay again. Highly recommended. Easy access into St Omer and the surrounding WW2 military sites. The best campsite in the area.

Not really disliked but would recommend. The perimeter trees and the odd dead tree could do with pruning, topping or removing. Around some of the pitches, the hedges and trees need pruning, topping or removing to keep the pitch space and so vans don’t get scratched by the low or extended tree branches.

What a superb site with wonderful amenities! Two lovely pools, tennis court, basket ball court, outside gym,boules and a lovely bar area. Julian, at reception was delightful with a great sense of humour and excellent speaking English. We will see you in four weeks on our return to the U.K.

A beautiful chateau setting, immaculate and well kept grounds, a generous sized pitch, very friendly staff, a pleasant bar/restaurant. We booked a one night stopover before returning to England, wished we’d been there for longer. A perfect place for our final stay in France.

We had the most incredible week staying here. Everything was just perfect. Pitch was secluded, shower and toilet facilities were always clean and the kids were permanently entertained with the swimming pool, park and bouncy castle. We will definitely be returning next year.

If I really had to find something I disliked I would say it would be good if you could eat outside the restaurant from the main menu rather than only the take away menu.
