Beautiful location which is a short drive to the must see Rocamadour. Lovely quiet swimming pool with the added bonus of no noisy kids. The hard working Chateau owners are very friendly and make you feel welcome.

I downgraded the area as without a car (advertised on their website) we could not access the area easily in our motorhome without packing up each day I also disagree with paying extra to use a tennis court which is then covered in grit and sticks etc For such a rural area, the site did not offer lunches or sell ice creams, only wine and milk Although the showers were clean and hot we feel this site is in need of TLC, some areas are looking very tired and the website did not reflect what we found on arrival

Our third holiday here which perhaps says it all - beautiful site, lovely pool, great food at the restaurant and any support you want from Stuart and Sheila. An under-rated area to visit - plenty of places to visit. Great jazz band one evening and quiz night too.

Carefree experience, Met a lot of like minded people of various nationalities and thoroughly enjoyed each others company. the best holiday I have had in years . Would thoroughly recommend the Chateau de Lacomte. It was a delight. Stuart and Shelia really made us welcome as soon as we arrived.

In my opinion this is the best camp site in France. A selection of sunny or shaded pitches in sizes to suit every outfit, be it a tent or caravan with water, electric and drainage to every pitch. The facilities are spotless and the pitches are regularly cut. A beautiful good size swimming pool with plenty of sunbeds and a stunning view. A bar and restaurant. It also seems to attract a very friendly set of visitors, adding to the overall enjoyment. On top of that it's adult only and has a gite, static caravans and woodland cabins to hire so caters for everyone. The area is stunning and so much

Beautiful and tranquil. The ultimate place for a complete rest and unwind. Stuart and Shelia work tirelessly to ensure all the visitors are happy, and the grounds/pitches are maintained to their very high standard. All in all, can be summed up in one word - Paradise.

Warm welcome and informative brief on highlights of the area.. Excellent terrace and pool area, quality of menu and service in restaurant. Expansive size of pitches and #39 perfectly flat for our demountable camper. Quiet and child free environment made the tranquillity even more enjoyable.

Variable on-site WiFi (only on terrace) made communication difficult and trying.. Excess of regulatory notices.

We liked the pitches. Nicely spread out and screened. Shame that some other guests didn’t heed the rules and chatted away loudly until 1am preventing a decent nights sleep. The pizzas were fabulous. Having fresh bread and pastries was great too.

The swimming pool was very tired and needs some money spending on it. The on line photos make it look much nicer than the reality. We didn’t much like the persistent sarcasm of the owner…..we were not guests but paying customers and needed to be treated as such.

Loved this site. As soon as you enter you get a great feel about it. Beautiful Pool are and a fantastic welcome at reception. They took time to give us a map and tell us exactly where to go. Some great places to visit in the area. Pitches were really big and therfore you had your privacy. Loved this site and will definatley return. Child free so very quiet.

Whole site needs updating, street lights not working, certain pitches electrics we’re not working, had to have another pitch trail his cable through our pitch to plug into another electric box. Pool area needed a clean, algee was built up around the edges of the pool, and it didn’t look like the whole pool wasn’t cleaned, even had debri left on side of pool for 2 days. Some showers that were used in the block had cobwebs in the same spot for the holiday duration. It looked like it was the same staff that did the cleaning that served in the bar and restaurant, in the same clothes.

Still liked the pool even though it needs a good scrub. The site is peaceful guests friendly.

Lack of cleaning in showers, cobwebs and hair in place the whole 14 days. Pool needs repairs and cleaning as algea growing around edges. Less parasols and sun beds than in the past. Replaced by silly chairs that can only hold a teenagers weight that's why no one sits in them. Finally the staff and owners are just not approachable very defensive and wary. Reason is they know site is not up to scratch.

A very nice and friendly couple runs this campsite. It was a very nice and calm atmosphere, all around the campsite.

Most of the facilities were a bit dated and could use some renewal.

Adults only, so very quiet, clean sanitary block, nice food in the restaurant, big swimming pool, very friendly staff and owners, you can choose your camping spot, beautiful region.

Hosts were superb…..Stuart had a great sense of humour and Sheila a fantastic cook….great hosts nothing was too much trouble….we stumbled across this tranquil adults only site looking for a quiet place to re charge our batteries after being 2 months on the road…..the area is beautiful and quiet only around 20 vans on site…..some days we had the pool to ourselves….the food was fantastic….and the campers on site was so friendly made so many friends…..high light for me was Stuart lending/hiring us his old VW Cabriolet to visit some of the villages around the area….sad to leave but deffo come back

A fantastic campsite with great facilities and extremely helpful and friendly staff. Lovely swimming pool and great food. Plenty to see and do on days out. Bonus was being able to watch the Tour de France live near Gramat.

huge pitches for a car a tent and gazebo. electric hook up and fridge hire make things easier. Lovely quiet camping with a pool as a bonus. shared facilities were all kept really clean and the morning on site bread was a good way to start each day, the site also serve good pizzas and tasty evening food. The whole site is adults only and therefore really tranquil and we were very sad to leave it. The owners Stuart and Sheila built the place from scratch which alone makes it worth a look, and many thanks to them for our memorable stay.

Friendly and helpful people (owners, guests and staff) in an enjoyable environment. Superb evening meals made by the owners too.

Shower temperatures seemed low and no obvious means of adjusting it for guests. Probably easy to set at source and I’m sure it will be quickly sorted.

Peaceful and tranquil site which hasn’t changed since our last visit in 2016. Close to the main attractions of the region and within reasonable distance of towns with amenities (supermarkets etc). Lacomte offers “freedom pitches” for Motorhomers without separate transport where you can hire a car for as many days as you wish giving flexibility to explore the beautiful region.

Whilst it is still early in the season some of the advertised facilities were not fully functioning ie the pool and the restaurant. The owners said the pool would be available to use during our stay however this was not the case unless you liked swimming with the local flora and fauna - this was a disappointment as the weather was very warm for the time of year. The restaurant was also closed due to the chef being injured. It would have been nice to have been informed of this prior to our arrival so that we were fully informed. Hence our average rating.

Nooit zo’n rust ervaren, absoluut nihil geluid.... op zo’n groot en mooi domein keuze genoeg voor een plek naar wens... zeer lekker gegeten en toffe sfeer ! (En superlekkere baguette te bestellen aan balie voor afhaling).

Heel rustige camping zonder animatie. Vriendelijk echtpaar en fantastisch zwembad, ligstoelen. Kampeerplek zeer ruim met eigen waterkraan (super handig). Sanitair dik in orde en héél netjes.

Adembenemende sterrenhemel in dit gebied waar het ook om bekend staat. Verder hebben we tips gekregen van de eigenaar waar we dankbaar gebruik van hebben gemaakt om zo optimaal de Dordogne streek te bezichtigen.

Voor de zwemmers en de zonnekloppers is dit een prachtlocatie. Geen spelende kinderen in het zwembad. Je kan rustig baantjes trekken en achteraf onder de parasol een boek lezen.

De camping is gelegen in een natuurdomein. Hierdoor is de internetverbinding op de camping zeer traag, enkel aan het restaurant heb je voldoende snelle wifi. Het restaurant heeft een zeer beperkt menu.

Mooie rustige camping gelegen in mooi park met grote oude sequoia’s en bomen, grote plaatsen, waterkraan bij plaats.

Geen WiFi op plaats je moet naar restaurant voor WiFi. Slechte of geen internetverbinding 3G/4g in de regio. Slechte hobbelige weg naar camping. Douches in begin koud, duurt erg lang voordat het warm is. Later waren de douches véél te heet en een harde waterstraal. Geen haakjes op douchedeuren. Beperkt assortiment brood (stokbrood, croissant, chocoladebroodje) bij receptie. Stokbrood soms te hard/zwart gebakken. Camping is wat gedateerd. Dit komt omdat eigenaar de camping wil verkopen en niet meer investeert.

De heerlijke rust. Geen harde muziek van animatie. Geen bommetjes in het zwembad. Geen rondslingerend wc papier. Geen gillende kinderen. De eigenaar is vriendelijk en neemt de tijd om bezienswaardigheden in de buurt te vertellen. Ook is het eten in het restaurant aan te bevelen.

De 1e 2 dagen was er geen warm water. Er waren onderdelen besteld. Na de reparatie was het water warm. Of zelfs heet. Helaas kon je niet zelf mengen.

Het was heel erg rustig. Gerieflijke camping, echt wel een beetje Engels. Terras en zwembad waren echt goed.

Kampeerplek was wat modderig. Na weken van droogte had het flink geregend.

De camping plaats, heerlijk vrij, niet direct dat je andere buren ziet. Vriendelijke mensen op de camping als ook de eigenaren en personeel

tips, wat onderhoud aan zwembad en sanitair. Sanitair vonden wij niet echt heel schoon. Na een paar dagen zie je toch nog steeds hetzelfde vuil zitten.

Rustige camping met een zalig zwembad Sanitair is proper en handig dat er eennwateraansluiting is aan elke camping plaats. Personeel vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Slechts 1 sanitaire blok waardoor het voor ons wel even lopen was, we kozen wel bewust om zo ver te staan natuurlijk..

Mooie camping in een prachtige omgeving. Heerlijk zwembad, heel schoon sanitair, aardige eigenaren, heerlijk eten in het restaurant waar de eigenaar zelf kookt Heel groot voordeel is dat het adults only is, dus het is er heerlijk rustig vooral in het zwembad. Geen schreeuwende, rondrennende kinderen waardoor de volwassenen ook veel relaxter zijn. kortom wij komen hier vast nog wel eens terug.

Als er dan al een minpuntje is dan is dat misschien dat je de dag van te voren moet aangeven dat je wilt eten in het restaurant. Maar dat heeft wel als voordeel dat je supervers eten krijgt. En zij kunnen daarop inkopen zodat ze ook niet teveel hebben en dat begrijp ik ook wel weer. En wat ons opviel, maar daar kunnen de eigenaren niks aan doen, is dat vooral de Engelsen met de auto naar het toilet en de douche gaan. Als ze dat gaan verbieden dan zouden wij het daar heel erg mee eens zijn.
