En tente glamping, le prix (1100€ pour 4 jours/4 nuits) est excessif et non justifié. La course des 24 heures du Mans ne suffit pas à générer une telle tarification. En hôtel 3 *, vous avez un bien meilleur confort et les servitudes privatives (salle d’eau, toilettes). Il manquait le petit déjeuner. A ce prix, un café et un croissant ne peuvent pas diminuer votre marge. L’invasion anglo-saxonne limite les échanges. Il manquait des représentants français.

Prachtig ruim en open terrein met dito groen en geweldige grote/hoge bomen. Ruime standplaatsen en een gemoedelijke sfeer. Een verademing om het terrein op te rijden en te verblijven (in ons geval na een verblijf op een overvolle en rumoerige camping).

Het sanitair lag betrekkelijk ver bij onze plek vandaan, dus ver sjouwen met de afwas en op tijd naar het toilet :-O

Emplacement avec une belle vue , ce n'est pas le 1er Castel que nous faisons , je roule sur le circuit Bugatti du Mans régulièrement et il est très facile pour nous de se poser chez vous , De plus nous avons une Rottweiller catégorisée et vous acceptez tous les Chiens chez vous , il va sans dire que notre gros Ours est absolument adorable avec tout le monde et surtout les Enfants. La gérance du restaurant, les cuisiniers qui sont en place, le service, la qualité, et les prix excessifs de la carte, ne sont pas en adéquation avec ce type d’établissement. Avec une brasserie type qualité, et des prix corrects, nous aurions déjeuner, dîner à plusieurs reprises sans hésiter. Les propriétaires du château en ont pleinement conscience et font leur maximum pour y remédier. Pour cette année, il faudra faire avec.

My group of friends have been coming to your campsite for the 24hr Le Mans for twelve years now. Thoroughly enjoy the stay every time, beautiful location and a warm welcome as ever, thank you.

The hog roast was not acceptable. Dominique used to produce a stunning bbq with a choice of meats and vegetables. We had no idea what the starter was, the pork was served by youths who were not separating out grissle from meat, beans were the only choice of vegetable, but as soon as we had finished ours, chips suddenly appeared. 5 out of the 8 of us had not been before, but myself and other veterans were very excited about the Sunday BBQ and encouraged them all to buy tickets. That was embarrassing. One of them abandoned it and bought a separate meal at the restaurant for a further 20 euros.

Yes unfortunately our pitch was sand and unfortunately it rained, we have a dog and this ruined our carpets not necessarily the sites fault but sand! Gravel would be better or a hard standing surface , when and we will visit again I would go on the larger grassed areas much better and carpets friendly

What a lovely campsite. Great amenities and friendly staff. Pitch was massive and over looked the main building with a lovely view. We stayed for 2 nights on route further south and liked it so much, we have booked to stay in our return journey home. Having the small local produce market and daily visit with fresh pastries was a nice touch.

We loved the setting of the campsite, the area is beautiful. The staff were really accommodating - gave us a lovely shady campsite, were always helpful. My daughters loved the farm and the swimming pool. Even on the 1 rainy day we had a lovely time in the games room and watching the film. The BBQ night was so much fun, as was the marshmallow night. We had such a relaxing time. Thank you, we will be back!!

Shower fixtures do require some replacements/maintenance. Hot water ran out in male showers every time. Menu in restaurant and take away was limited, would have used it more if there was more choice - not much choice for vegetarians/vegans. The shop didn't stock essentials, mostly gifts.

We have had a lovely time at Chateau de Chanteloup, pitch was great we booked the premium package which was ideal to have at the site ready for us. The staff and owners go the extra mile - pub quiz and family bbq nights were really great - site always clean. Glamping for the first time at Chanteloup but have camped at Chanteloup, virtually every year since late nineties. Really good, would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

Sadly, Hog Roast (Sunday night) did not go well (this time). Organisational chaos to get food, food quality very poor when we finally did get it.

It was a pleasure to return to Chanteloup again, we hadn't been since before covid, so it was so nice to be back and we wondered if it had changed at all - but we needn't have worried, it's still very much the same. Chanteloup is unique, there is no where else quite like it . The Dream Team were again very helpful, willing to assist at any time. The Saturday night BBQ was brilliant, an opportunity to meet up with familiar 'camp' friends whom we have met before and make new friends. Staying st Chanteloup feels like you are staying at a country house weekend party , its just lovely.

Nothing we really disliked. However, a couple of points for your consideration: 1) more items in your shop, it was very limited for food items. Also it would be useful to have a few camping items available too 2)The washing machines were a bit old and tempremental, and a few more would be useful 3) a couple more hairdryers in the ladies showers please, I didn't bring one thinking that there were some there but there was only one and it was awkward to wait around for it. 4) previously we've always enjoyed nice hot showers, this year there were times when they were noticeably cool.

The campsite didn’t feel too crowded even though it was full capacity. The pool was fun, the setting was well kept and elegant, the massage I had from Françoise was one of the best of my life. The woods and bike hire, and motorbike day in the woods was fantastic. The fresh pastries and bread every morning was wonderful too.

Good facilities. Showers had great hot water and pressure and there were plenty of them! Toilets always clean with toilet roll. Pitches were placed really nicely which allowed kids to play in the middle.

Fright night was probably fun for older children but could have ended earlier than it did. Having a chain saw and screaming kids at that time of night wasn’t ideal for families with younger kids

We love coming here & have come for many years. This year there seem less staff, very limited cleaning which the weather probably made worse as it rained lots for the first time ever! The site bathrooms were not particularly clean & not topped up with hand soap or toilet roll enough rendering some toilets out of use & some of the showers not working. Staff need to check these more. Definitely feels different now under new owners. Having said that - the pitches are fantastic and spacious, it is this that makes Chanteloup special & if you go with a caravan & own facilities then its perfect.

The owners are clearly investing a lot in their residence and the new log cabins, but the place just needs a little more attention to the cleanliness of toilets and showers. Also the restaurant still isn’t great - and expensive for takeaways - missing a huge opportunity, other castle sites do roast chickens etc for takeaway and great value - takeaways here are expensive especially for feeding a family - even as a treat.

Customer service was appalling we booked a pitch in the woods when we got to our pitch it was taken it was a very tight road and only way to return was to unhitch when caravan base was hit underneath. we were given and open field pitch which we were not happy with when I confronted manager se said it was net there fault !!! and i do not like the pitch we can leave and have a full refund!! this is terrible customer service. the pitch we booked was taken by a regular client that had decided to stat one extra night how!!

We have stayed a number of times and love the site. The space, the relaxed atmosphere and the great facilities keep us returning.

We’ve used the takeaway many times and this year was really disappointing. The pizza’s are no longer handmade, but just a frozen base. Nowhere near as nice. The shower block could do with some modernisation.

The setting in nature is really peaceful, and the Chateau itself makes a great focus for the site. Facilities were clean and worked well. Staff were friendly. The bakery that came in the morning was fantastic!! Thanks we had a lovely time.

This is not a dislike more a constructive comment. We have a motorhome over 3.5 tons and need a level pitch. This needs to be understood as caravans and tents are able to pitch more or less anywhere. It would be very helpful to have a compass on the site plan to better understand what pitch would suit us best. Max was very helpful in arranging a suitable pitch as I have mobility issues. Restaurant food was good and take aways equally good. Now I have visited the site and understand how the site likes to operate I will be better prepared on a return visit. Good Luck for the future.

This was our 4th year (6th stay) camping at Château Chanteloup and we had another amazing time. The team is made up of wonderful people, always helpful and available. The pitch was great, and the premium service is just fantastic. We love that there is a bar and restaurant on site and that the local baker arrives every morning. Our children were also very happy.

The pitches where a really good size, plenty of places to get water and bins to get rid if your rubbish. The chateaux looked amazing with really nice facilities surrounding it.

We ate in the restaurant and all 4 of us stated the food was really nice but lacked presentation with a very limited choice. We ordered and within 10 mins the food arrived same with desert, all seemed a bit rushed.

From arriving every minute of our stay created special memories! I had visited Chateaux du Chanteloup decades previously with my ex-husband, but had been planning to return for the 100th Le Mans Classic which coincided with my 50th birthday, for almost 10 years. Our stay did not disappoint, all the anticipation was worth the wait! From our shady pitch close to the satellite shower block to the birthday candle & painting I was presented with over dinner in the restaurant, every little detail was appreciated. I don't think I ever stopped smiling throughout our stay. Thank you

It wasn't appreciated that some guests decided it was ok to start their very loud sports cars at 06.30 on Friday morning, rev them unnecessarily and then leave them running for nearly 15 minutes, before roaring off in convoy down the gravel drive-way. Yes, we were all there for the racing, but some enjoy sleep just as much. Such guests should either be encouraged to take their cars to the gate the night before to minimise the impact the noise makes, or be banned from returning. Other guests were heard using drums at 01.30 hours on Sunday morning! Such a shame.

There is always a friendly welcome at Chanteloup for Le Man week when car enthusiasts mainly from the UK attend for this special week. The proprietors Valery and Benoit provide additional entertainment such as the car show on Friday with buffet and the hog roast on Sunday for those returning on Monday. This weekend is specifically for Le Mans enthusiasts rather than family holidaymakers. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

There was nothing to dislike but there are areas where further improvements are possible. The evening dinner outside restaurant could be expanded to accommodate more diners. Maybe add breakfast at the restaurant in addition to the sale of bread and croissants. Some of the dream team need to improve their barrista skills .

The Chateau has various types of accommodation and pitches, within the woodland or on open fields with lovely views of the Chateau. A bar and separate pool room within the house, restaurant, beautiful swimming pool set within gardens. Really couldn’t fault it and already planning a return visit. First time for us and really enjoyed our stay. Perfect and easy to get to the Le mans Circuit from the campsite. The hosts and staff were all welcoming and happy.

I understand the campsite need to cash in on the prime week of the year but feel its a bit extreme.

We stayed during the Le Mans 24 hour weekend, Chanteloup offers a great alternative to staying at the track. Much better for families. The facilities are first class and I would highly recommend.

Limited menu in the restaurant, only serving pizza on Friday night. The service was ok but the pizzas were not good. The normal menu looked much better but we were reluctant to go back and try it later in our holiday because of the bad experience on Friday.

The toilets and showers were cleaned regularly and the staff were very helpful. I have been coming for many years and the overall noise in an evening seemed much worse than in previous years, to the extent that one of our party commented that it sounded like a stag do" .

We booked the restaurant for 8pm. and we were advised that there were only pizzas., no steak as in previous years when we have stayed. We ordered 6 pizza's and sides at around 8.05pm. At 9pm when our order hadn't arrived I approached the member of staff who had taken our order who told me that he had forgot about it, but would retake the order and make it a priority. Over 35 minutes later the food finally arrived (1hr 35 after we arrived). Even then two of the pizzas were not as ordered and all were of poor quality. at 10pm after 2 hrs a member of staff brought a bottle of water !!

Terribly organised restaurant - you guys should get this in hand and start offering breakfasts / hampers for lunches / decent food - offer something more than burgers etc. Moules marinière for example. Better communication to guests - there was no food and wine on the Friday night mostly because of the weather I assume but this could have been moved inside or to the the restaurant area. Again , another hog roast while the restaurant is shut. We had a fridge at the site which came with a European plug - might be worth offering adaptors for UK visitors. Bigger TV screen for race coverage needed

Easy check-in with no booking. Lovely helpful bilingual staff. Great pitch with our van. The pool was gorgeous. The restaurant was a little pricey and no vegan options at all. But.. they were really helpful in putting something together for us. The showers were hot and clean and the all the buildings and surroundings are beautiful. Lovely bar and outside seating area with wifi. I will definitely be going back.

Chantelooup is a special place and there is no other campsite that I like the ambiance of as much. However it is becoming over priced and does not really warrant the price or the rating of 5 stars in its present state. Upkeep of the grounds is good but not as good as it should be with planting not maintained, we might have a drought but there is no excuse for weeds. Cleanliness of dated sanitary facilities could be much better and all toilets and washrooms need updating to maintain the star rating.

The restaurant service, food and price does not reflect the 5 Stars (mind you it never has in 20 Years). There is no longer a shop of any use, it used to have provisions now it's a few bottles of drink and a jar of mayo!

Fab. Beautiful place, beautiful chateau, lovely lovely staff. The bar is a delight… overlooking space for kids to ride bikes, play table football, pool and so on. Loads of greenery, super lake with a row boat, lovely pool (cold but nice) and even a decent restaurant.

Yes the shop was pointless it was never big but had day to day things, also the restaurant we always have eaten there but this year what a disappointment over priced and standard of food was poor , after 9 years I would say this is letting the château down unfortunately, without fail we always stopped here for a few days on our way home to Scotland, I would have to think next year and call before booking to see if these items had been changed , hopefully something can be done to bring it back to its first class status we have enjoyed for 8 years and we would come back

Everything you need all in one place for a super family holiday. Spacious pitches, great facilities. We’ve been returning year after year and always enjoy our visit. We had a meal in the restaurant and enjoyed it as much as in the past (despite having read some negative reviews recently). Valerie and Benoit (and the team) have tried to maintain the Chanteloup spirit whilst making some new additions in the form of cabins in the woods. We extended our stay to enable us to attend the Saturday night bbq, which is always a fun event. The children (aged 12&9) also enjoyed the two movie nights!

The site was a little quieter than usual (maybe people still getting back to things post covid) and it did feel like it had lost a little bit of its soul. There also seemed to be fewer activities than usual and less of a noticeable presence of both owners and the dream team.

This is a stunning campsite. Pitches are large and spacious, we loved how they were situated around the edge of the fields giving a fantastic community feeling. Swimming pool was lovely. Restaurant and bar both fabulous. They even organise lots of activities and entertainment for all with a fabulous atmosphere. Everything about this campsite was beautiful, rustic and quaint. We were very impressed and will definatly return! Perfect!

This was a brief, one night, stop over stay but we’re glad we chose Castel Camping again as you’re always guaranteed a warm welcome and a stunning location. We enjoyed a late night drink in the bar playing back gammon but my favourite bit was walking up to buy croissants in the morning; the house looked stunning in the morning sun and we enjoyed our breakfast with this view on some thoughtfully places, comfortable outside sofas.

Back for the 8th time after the enforced COVID hiatus and it’s just like we all remembered. Large pitches on open fields that allow kids and adults to play, with just enough distance between pitches to keep your stay private. Atmosphere was somewhat flatter but the change in ownership was hardly noticed. Relaxing, friendly, enjoyable and above all a very pleasant stay at our favourite French Campsite. Pool was sometimes crowded and unruly and could do with more frequent clean but still ok to use. Restaurant and shop has so much potential but not at the same standard as rest of site.

The overall cleanliness could be improved and the lower toilet and shower block was inadequate and not up to standard. I’m sure more people would use the bar if the prices were anyway reasonable and the shop was not really what you could call a shop….sort of half finished. The restaurant was not in any way good. staff when not outside, constantly sent us back for the “right change” and were rude. Food was not great other than chips- so much potential on the campsite if this was tweaked.

Very peaceful, beautiful, large amount of space. I liked that there were activities organised in the evenings by the hosts, which made the experience social and fun. I also liked the good atmosphere. We received great reception when we arrived from Max and throughout our stay he was excellent in making the stay memorable.

Ein wunderbar gelegener Platz mit großzügigen Pitches. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne, weil der Platz wirklich schön, ruhig und entspannt ist. Schön ist, daß der Dorfbäcker jeden Tag frisches Baguette bringt. In den letzten Jahren war es eines der besten Baguettes, die wir in Frankreich bekommen haben. In diesem Jahr hatte ich den Eindruck, daß es Aufbackbaguette war und nicht mehr annähernd an das der letzten Jahre heranreichen konnte. Schade!

Der Sanitärbereich, Toiletten und Duschen könnten eine Rundum-Erneuerung gebrauchen und die Sauberkeit in diesen Bereichen läßt zu wünschen übrig. Einem 5 ***** Platz nicht angemessen.

I have stayed here many times and always had a great time, this year the site was better than ever, with more options , but the welcome was as friendly and helpful. A change of management has only served to improve our experience. The experience is a little different bring race weekend but I’d have no issues revisiting outside of the race.

I didn’t use the restaurant because service had previously been slow , and I heard similar issues from other people , where as we had some lovely meals at at chateau sites

A lovely welcome from the staff in a beautiful location , the grounds of the chateaux are amazing the amenities are very good , and clean. The restaurant and bar area a great place to relax unwind have a cold beer , we didn’t eat in the restaurant but it looked very busy and the menu catered for all tastes. Would definitely stay again. We are repeat visitors to Chanteloup. The formula suits us perfectly - location is great for LeMans circuit, facilities all clean and well maintained. The restaurant, bar, bread lady and pool make is very easy to fall into a leisurely and relaxing routine. Will be continuing my record of staying at Chanteloup in 2023.
